Default oil capacity of a b16

Before I get yelled at to "check your manual" I don't have a manual, I am pretty sure it is 4.5 quarts. But this is the first time i have changed the oil in my b16. Thanks

i just drained my oil out of the pan and into a jug to recycle when i noticed there is a washer at the bottom of the drain pan. When i took the drain plug out it fell into the oil, i guess there was a washer on it. I never had a washer on my d series, should i drain my oil and put the washer back on? help

yes a new drain washer is required each time for oil change service and u can get the washer from your local honda dealership and it can not or better not to reuse it

u missed it the entire time but i think the main purpose of that darin washer is to seal the drain plug tight, so no oil will be dripping from the darin plug..my honda dealership gave me couple of those for free and the oil drain plug washer is also the manual tranny oil drain and refill washers

you can dump o your oil in a clean container, then add the washer to the bolt, then add the oil again. you can also leave it the way it is now and add the washer later on the next oil change.

the only thing is, whether you leave it like it is now or reuse the washer it will leak, not much, but enough to stain your drive way. next time you are at the dealer, get one. they are like $.02 (if that).

would it be better to reuse the old one or not use one? i won't be able to get to a honda dealership for atleast a couple of days, i'm gonna have to be quick to take out the plug, plug up the whole with a finger and then put the plug back in. I guess it's good that i bought an extra quart. live and learn i guess
