Default HID Swap into my Lexus ES300 Projector

I installed my HID kit on my 96 Es300... Its a oem projector.
Now I wasnt looking for a S2000 beam, but when I put these in, they sit flush in the back like a regular bulb, but there is NO beam strait, its all to the sides...

WTF gives? I tried to adjust, nothing. The beam is 25 inches from the ground @ the headlight... Than 2 feet in front of that, it falls to 16 inches.

Does the bulb have to be incerted a specfic way or what?!? Im running out of ideas...

even if you put the bulb in right way, the focal point of hid bulb is different than halogen bulb...you just dont put hid bulb in a halogen projector period...
there is only one way out...that is to retrofit xenon projector into your housing...

I understand the fact that I may not have a perfect beam, but there is no beam at all, which is what confused me.

Not sure why your being a dick, simple answers suit fine. Intenet bully ftw i guess.

-What would cause an oem bulb to provide normal beam of light, but when an HID bulb is put into the exact same place, there is no beam in front of the car, only about 15 feet in front of the car.

The only answer is that, for some reason, it isn't ending up in "the exact same place". It's either a problem with the way the capsules were made, or some issue with the way you're installing them into the projectors, but either way you're ending up with a different focal point. I would carefully compare the HID capsule and the 9006 side by side to see if there is any difference in the position of the arc tube verses the filament. Next, check if there is something that is causing the HID capsule to seat differently than the 9006 bulb in the housing.

IF YOU read this post, he removed 2.5-3.5mm or material...that's how much the center of light was off by...anything greater than that imagine the disaster...

here see what they look like...

You came across as rather condescending, but more importantly, you also do not seem to have addressed his specific issue.

You're assuming that he is trying to install standard D2S HID capsules into the ES300's 9006 halogen housings. From what he has stated in his post, it reads as if he is using an HID "kit" that has HID capsules with 9006 bases, in which case they should come from the manufacturer with a focal point that is quite close to that of standard 9006 halogen bulbs.

Of course, he didn't explicitly state that the kit has 9006 based capsules, so until further clarification is provided, either assumption could presumably be correct.

Yes, he never mentioned that the kit he is using is rebased 9006 or D2S bulb...either case the point is that when the focal point is off by 2.5mm-3.5mm....the results are very clear...as shown in the many civics with kits installed...i do not know if these civics use D2S or rebased bulb or any other bulb you can imagine...the point is that when any of these bulbs do not match the focal point, the results are in the pics...

You are talking about manufacturers in china(REBASED BULBS), do you think that they have high standards when manufacturing bulbs?? I am sure the recalled toys have standards as well...

just remember 2.5mm to 3.5mm is about 1/8 inch...move your bulb around slightly to get the beam you want
