Would the HID 12k bulbs (H4) reflect properly in these headlight housings?:

I don't want to make them glare out and blind people. Do I need to retrofit the headlights or something?

 

HIDs in halogen reflectors will be blinding, period.

12k will be blinding, period. This is simply due to how bluer light refracts more in the air. Even in a proper HID projector with a "perfect cutoff", the glare will increase with over distance with blue light. 12k has more blue, so will glare more.

If you want good lighting and to not blind people, you want a retrofit and < 6k color temp.

 

Okay thanks. But if I do get 6k bulbs, am I able to still use those clear JDM headlights? or do I have to get the retrofit headlights. I know for sure that the stock housing you can't because it's not the proper housing.

 

you gatta retrofit for it to work properly. These will likely be even worse than using the stock housings. Those ebay ones arent a bad place to start for a retrofit though. good luck
