i know it is possible to make 300whp on a stock b16 but how long will it last(my motor has less than 4000 miles on it)? from what i have read is that if you have a conservative tune you should be fine. i would like to have 300whp but my goal is to have a car that does at least 110mph in the 1/4 mile. how much power will i need to have that trap speed in the 1/4 mile. if the motor does give up on me what part of it will most likely break down? i am guessing the head because the block can handle the power(from what i have read).


does anyone on this forum have a stock b16 making 280-300whp?

what i was planning on doing was to have 275 whp for everyday driving and about 300whp on 100 octane.

 

i would say something in the block would be the first to go, a lot of people build blocks up and then build their heads later on when they want more power. just make sure you have a great tuner and go for it

 

There are a lot of setups making 300+ on stock B16s w/ pump gas. If you want cheap race gas, look into E85 instead of 100 octane. Around here its only about $2.50/gal and effectively 106 octane

 

E85 is close to 105 octane. 300 is pushing it.

 

Schister66 touched on something important octane. E85 is promising but i doubt you have the knowledge to convert the fuel system over if your just getting into forced induction. 300whp is not pushing it baby boy, if theres one thing you learn its tuning is key. Tune it or dont even built it at all. People run in the 400's on pump gas. Read faq in the forced induction section and get some more education. Knowledge is power

 

i have stock block gsr with 270whp and 210tq trapping at 110mph in the quarter....

 

One of the guys at SLS recently made 389whp on a stock B16 running E85....there is potential

 

yeah people have pushed E85 into the 500's i believe. Its good stuff, its stoichiometric is different than gasoline of 14.7:1 there is methanol is like 6.4:1 and 9:1 is ethanol. Gotta supply different amounts to get the same AFR's when comparing gasoline to others.

 

yea i just moved and have an e85 station less than a block from my house. cant go wrong for 2.35 a gallon. sucks though because i went to a shop yesterday and they dont do e85 yet because there arent enough stations around i guess. isnt is it possible to convert to be able to run both regular like 93 pump and also run e85? like a different fuel map on a switch?

I just went through this with my brother, he wants to hit 300 on his B16A2. I recall one thread where the guy did 33x WHP on pump gas, 378whp on E85 - to quote him, "cylinder head was never removed". No arp's IIRC.

I can tell you if you want 300 MAX, don't get a turbo bigger than a t3/t04b s-trim, t3/t04e 50trim, or T3 60trim. One of my friends made 250whp on 9psi with an old SiR B16A with a thunderbird's 60trim T3 (.60/.63), 93 octane. With a stg3 wheel and 3-5psi more - and cams better than the old SiR's - 300 should be easy.

 

my STOCK b16 made 323whp on 11psi and 290who on 9psi with over 200 wtq i daily drive it and i beat the dog **** out of it EVERY day. car was proffesionally tuned with HONDATA and I would say its ALL IN THE TUNE!!! 300whp is easy...and if its done right and you have quality parts, and a good tune theres NO reason you can't daily drive it...i drive over 50miles a day with it too.

 

k ... so 300 whp on a stock b16 block and head is attainable. and tuner who knows wat he is doing should get u their safely?
high comp boost for the win in that case.

 

I made 300whp 200wtq on a b16B with 10.8:1 compression. 300 is very reliable as long as tuned right. My buddy has 28k miles on a 300whp gsr and still going strong. A kid out here also made 405whp on a stock B16a with a GT3076 at 20psi and trapped 124.

As far as trap speed 270-300 should put you at 110+ mph I trapped 112 with 300 in my 92 Hatch Si, My buddy with the GSR traps 112 also in a full interior Integra GSR.
