Default what header for 00' coupe with b18? need help asap!!

i have a 2000 civic ex coupe with an ls/vtec swap (b18b1 bottom end, b16 head). right now im using a dc header thats kinked and when i bolted it on, it didnt meet up with the cat bolted to the rest of the exhaust. it was like 1 foot too short. so i took it to an exhaust shop and they extended the exhaust piping to make it bolt up. well now im looking for an upgrade (currently running stock piping) so im wondering what header i need to get that will bolt up to the stock d series cat and a catback for a 00 coupe that wont require any hacking up of the exhaust piping. is it true that a b16 header wont clear the bottom of the oilpan? if it will clear it, would it bolt up to the cat and a catback with no length issues? need help asap!

unsure if its a gsr or ls, is one short and one long? also its a 4-1. im just trying to figure out what im going to have to do header wise to make my new exhaust system all bolt up cleanly and not be welded into 1 piece lol.

im picking up a stock ls header this weekend, is it not going to work with my setup right now then????

B16 header won't work. You'll need a header for the type R b18c5 (b18c1 header is slightly shorter I think). You still will need to extend your exhaust a little or find a type R cat....You'll need a cat/extension (or test pipe) about 17 inches long if memory serves to join the header to the cat back. I have a b18c5 in my EM1 and use the JDM DC 4-1 header and I had to buy a larger cat with an extension pipe welded to it to work for me.

My buddy has a LS-V in his hatch and right now he has an Apexi 4-2-1 and King Motorsports told him that with an ls-v that a ITR header would work better than the apexi. Its not much but thats my 2 cents worth. There reasoning is that the ITR header would do better with the compression ratio.

Pretty sure you're only option will be a JDM DC 4-1 type R header and a cat that ends up being 17" long. Another alternative for you may be the Rage tri-y style (Hytech) header which is longer than stock. It would either bolt up or come close. You might have trouble running a cat with it though because of it's length or modify the b-pipe to make them work together.
