Default Wiring 4-wire O2 Sensor or CX harness

Just wanna know what the easiest way to go about this is. My Si harness is pretty trashed so I am just splicing the VTEC and fixing broken connectors on my CX one.

why do you need a 4 wire??.. or an o2 sensor at all for that matter..

get your ecu chipped and have them turn it off.

I did a z6 swap on my vx and kept my vx harness and I would also like to know how to wire to 4 wire. I haven't been able to find a helpful DIY on it.

Yeah I'll post pictures up asap, its pretty simple, just need a donor harness or even just the connector.

No, the only ones that came with 1-wire were the VX and CX. This is only for the wiring of the engine harness.

Heres what I came up with.

I took the EX/Si harness apart, all the loom and electrical tape were removed. I traced all the wires from the O2 sensor connector to each of thier locations on the harness. The four wires are colored Orange/Black, Yellow/Black, White w/ insulation, and Green/White.

The first wire I did was the Orange/Black. It connects at the top passenger shock tower. It is the connector with the wiring for VTEC.

Next was the Green/White, I assume this to be a ground as it was tied into other wires of the same color further down the harness. I was being lazy and just tied it into the same conenctor as the last since it had a wire that on the other harness was tied into. I don't have a good picture of the one I spliced it with but you will see it.

After that was the insulated white wire. The spot that you will connect this to is the same spot that your single wire sensor goes to. It also is on the passenger shock tower, and it is a 10-pin connector. At the top of the connector there are 3 wires, Red/Black, White(O2 Sensor), and Brown/Black. All you need to do is replace the white one with yours.

Also the insulated wire was originally spliced into the Red/Black wire right next to it a few inches down, I just pulled back the loom and added in the new wire

The last wire is the Yellow/Black wire. It goes to the driver side shock tower. There is a connector that is blocked off with a bunch of wires of the same color. These go to the injectors I believe. You will put your wire in the empty spot.

before:

after:

And that is it, I now have my original connector and don't have to run the wires into the ECU. Let me know what you think. I might do an actual write up with better and more pictures.

BTW I had to put in a new bosch O2 sensor and I wired that into the OEM sensors connector, I can get pictures of that if anyone wants also.

OK I'll get it running this weekend. If you have any requests for certain pictures let me know and I'll get them.

Hey bud,

That green/white wire is NOT a ground. The green and white wire is all over your motor...Check your sensors and notice

so you had an ex/si harness and you took it apart to hack up yours why didnt you just use the ex/si harness on your engine and left it alone?

The Si harness I had was trashed, lots of bad splices, broken connectors, this way I used my good harness and just added stuff to it.

I never said it was a ground I said I thought it was. If you know what it is then feel free to help out.

OH, and just from a quick search on ECU pinout, Green/White are sensor grounds... please be more informed when trying to correct something.

Ok, so all you essentially need is the o2 sensor and the plug that connects the o2 to the harness right? and from there I can run the wires to those locations.

And a VX is not 1-wire; a VX is a 5-Wire L1H1 o2 sensor.

Oh I know that. It should be the same on either application (wether it be 1[cx]/5[vx] wire)

Yeah it would be the same if you are going to a 4-wire so its not like it matters, I dont have a VX harness but it may have most of the wires already ran. I've been slacking off but as soon as I get a chance I'll do an actual write-up, work has been crazy lately.

OK, sorry I let this die without actually doing a write-up as I have had PM's with questions. I'll start to get a write up together so there won't be any confusion, and hopefully I can finish this weekend.
