this is how it's wired right now
with the key in the ignition

with parking lights on (first click)

well in the picture you can see it because it's so dim
so my problem is when i turn on the parking lights.. the deck dims and I can't control it with my dimmer like the rest of my lighting.. is this wrong, or am I trippen?

The illumination wire in the stock radio harness is not controlled by the "dimmer" control, in fact the "dimmer" control does not control the dash light power wire, [red/black] it controls the ground wire to the lights, [red].
It is working the way it is supposed to, it dims the lights when you turn on the park/head lights, as they do not need to be as bright at night.

red/black is parking lights.
red (car side) is the variable resistance dimmer wire.
Some decks use one and some use the other. This is why it's not wise to connect the orange wire on an aftermarket deck unless you know what you're doing. Is it a +, is it a -, or is it a variable resistance? Get it wrong, you can blow the cluster.
No, do not connect the illumination wire to your power wire.
Red goes to switched accessory (yellow/red)
Yellow goes to battery (white/blue)

no because the radio get the parking light wire -red/blk. This wire is not effected by the dimmer switch. It comes on with the parking lights. When i was at cc we would never hook up the dimmer because on some cars it would blow the dash lights.

Meh.... I never hooked up illumination for exactly that reason. Eliminated confusion on which wire I needed, and eliminated the chance of something going wrong...
Funny story about that though... I did an install in some '84 Volvo and the guy came back the next day saying that his dash lights weren't working and that it was my fault.
Showed him a new radio and where the illumination wire was, then pulled the radio I installed in his vehicle and showed him the orange wire from the deck capped off, and asked him to show me the orange wire in the Metra harness... After about a minute, he told me that it wasn't there, which was correct because I always depinned the orange wires from each & every harness...
He apologized and left. lol

On Honda/Acura HUs the lights and readout/screen dim when park/head lights are turned on, same as the clock, [it is the same with most aftermarket HUs].
I have never had a problem connecting the illumination, [red/black] of Honda/Acuras to the illumination input of any HU, even on HUs that have back lighting that is supposed to dim with the dash lights, [they just don't dim].
I do not however connect illumination outputs in cars that are controlled by the dimmer switch to HUs that do not have back lighting that is supposed to dim with the dash lights, or use the rev. dimmer on any HU.

Your 00 S2000 HU does not have a "dimmer" input, it only has an illumination input, [red/black], your 98 Civic does not have a "dimmer" output lead, it also only has an illumination lead, [red/black], so no, there is no way to have the lights in the HU controlled by the "Dash Lights Brightness Controller".

Question, what color bulbs do you have in your Integra cluster & climate?
I too have an Si radio, and I bought these "orange" bulbs from autozone but they don't match my radio.
