What am I doing wroing? Is there a hidden bolt I need to remove in order to take this thing out? Do I need to go inside the car and remove the stick shift?

there are two bolts showing in this picture you need to remove which is a little plate and the shifter should come down through

the whole linkage should come off now since that back mount is removed just pull harder, maybe the rubber boot inside is caught on something make sure the shift **** is off as well

I just replaced the bitch pin with a nut and bolt, I finally got tired of messing with it so many times while I was under jack stands.

I just did the same thing. I can remove and install my shift linkage in now time at all now. My bolt was a little loose and was causing some sloppiness in the shifting, so I wrapped a few revolutions of electrical tape around the bolt and now its in there snug. My shifting feels just like I had the bitch pin in there. Some people may call this method ghetto, but I really don't know why Honda put that roll pin in there instead of a bolt anyway. The bolt works just fine and is easier to remove and replace if necessary.

I once put a bolt and nut where the bitch pin was for temporary fix. It’s not a good idea to run this as a perminate solution, too much play and slop. Use the bitch pin; it is simple to take out. Just use a c-clamp and a small hex bit that is a little smaller diameter than the bitch pin, and do it that way.

No, no slop if you get a bolt just the right size or wrap some electrical tape around the bolt to make it fit snugly. My shifter is no different now then when I had the bitch pin in there. I think a bolt with a rubber spacer would have worked better than the bitch pin.

Yes, I did too. It is not about the BP in any way, numbskull. He was trying to remove the back portion of the linkage AFTER removing the BP.
