Default 97 Accord SE Oil Leak Passanger Side back.

I seem to have an oil leak that i have noticed after i made a long drive. I got done cleaning my block at the bottom and at top as best as i could. I looked under a few days later and saw some oil from my car, i thought maybe it was from the cleaning and old oil and water dripping...so i put some cardboard under there and checked a few days and there was some oil.. not a lot, just a 50 dollar piece size oil spot and not all piled up, already soaked in the cement and cardboard so its not all at once. I check my oil and it is full in fact a little past full. Would this cause anything?

I changed my oil in Virgina and drove to Texas half way i had checked it, it showed in between the two holes in the oil stick, so i put some more in there and went a little past full. I never really noticed anything in vriginia ever and i was under my car a lot in those days. So this is new to me anyways i provide pics of where its coming from, its somewhere at the top, but its where everything is at.. such as intake battery distrub. wires etc so unless i take everything off i cant get a great view, so hopefully someone here would know, from personal experience. The car drives great and it drove great from va to texas.

As you can see its coming from the side, and above this, just couldn't take a pic

---------------------------------------------------------
then comes down and under and drips

and it looks kinda spread out, as u can tell in the first pic the oil is shiny and never really just makes a trail. This has been going on for just about two weeks, and like i siad never seems to be losing oil from the oil stick indicator.

correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt that the tranny side??? I mean it doesn't look like tranny fluid, but check you tranny fluid level.

ya its tranny side, and its not tranny fluid most def isn't, tranny fluid is also full, it looks like its coming from the top of the engine on the side and just starts dripping down, but like i said i cant find the source sense theres 100 things in the way and i dont feel like taking everything off sense im about to get it inspected so i was wondering if anyone might know the culprit. Again i did wash my engine 2 weeks ago, but i would think all the dripping and running of water and old oil would have stoped... i just dont understand if it was leaking u would atleast see a drop in how much oil is on the dipstick

I'm thrown off by the angle of the pics so I can't really tell where that is... Maybe a stupid thought but just an idea, it isn't the valve cover gasket is it? Mine was leaking on one side awhile back, new gasket, good as new.

from what i could tell it doesn't seem to be leaking there, then again i wasnt really paying attention to that specific spot

as for the bad angle, its leaking on the passanger side.. the first pic is the side of the engine but on the passanger side so no timing belt cover, pullys etc.. and the bottom pic is the bottom of the tranny..

I will def check vavle cover though after its light out and i acually pay attention to that spot.. thanks for the ideas and keep them coming

if people think it would help alot more to get exact up and down angle then ill def take new pics tomorrow as im checking it out more then.

I too am thinking dist seal. Do you have VTEC, sorry didnt pay much attention, skimmed through posts, VTEC solenoid leak. You are going to have to clean at every angle, GUNK, not the foamy one, get a mirror and flash light, this one should leak with just a drive around the block, do a better inspection dude. Your pics dont help us.

i checked valve cover and pretty sure its not coming from there, its all clean around the edges and no apparent oil leaking thats jumping out to my eye to make me say "ya thats where its coming from" and i gotta wait for inspection before i go tearing apart, i will try to keep posted though once inspection is over.

still feel free to give ideas if you may, will def check the dist. after inspection
