oil leak fixed?
Ok, heres my situation which I think fixed my oil leak...97 SH w/165K
1.) Checked oil and was low about a qt
2.) Added Extra quart of mobil1 full syn 0w40 (always use 10w30 mobil1 full syn)
3.) After a few days of driving... I noticed there was no oil puddle on my driveway which leads me to think that having a qt of 0w40 mixed in with 10w30 cured my oil leak?
Is this possible or is my car just having one of those days? I dont know, but maybe somebody else out there has experienced this before.

are you saying that there was an oil leak? because no oil leak then loosing oil, then adding different oil plus still no leak doesnt mean it wont get low again..
I'm going to assume you drive a H22 of some form... If so it is very common for H22s to mysteriously consume approximately 1 quart between oil changes. So if your coming close to oil change time it's quite common to be about a quart low...
Adding a thicker oil could cause it to not make it by your seals. But chances are the problems not fixed. Find out where its leaking from by completely cleaning the underside of your motor where you beleive the oil is comming from using a good degreaser. Than just moniter it on a daily bases to see where it originates from. There should be a thread in here that shows typical spots/fixes of particular oil leaks.

Yes there was an oil leak and now there isnt. I was loosing about a quart every 1500 mi which isnt too bad especially if you get into VTEC every once in a while.

Ok, I tried it for a couple days and there was still a leak.
but the drips were a lot smaller than before. Oh well I guess it was a one day...no drip wonder.
Thanks for the input though
