I can't get rid of this tranny gremlin: whining
Tranny:
Cable B-series JDM Y1 LSD
Symptoms (car is on jackstands):
-Tranny whines throughout all gears and gets louder as RPMs rise and gears get higher (5th gear is loudest). 1st and Reverese are not too noticable, I have never revved the car pass 4K RPM because I didn't want to break anything.
-Once the tranny is spinning (@ any gear) the whining continues until it completely stops rotating, even when out of gear (in neutral) with the clutch in or out. . .possibly differental is about to go or is already out?
-When I rotate the wheels and the car is off, it sounds like a broken ratchet (metal hitting eachother, clicking sound, not grinding)
-I've also noticed that the wheels (neither of them) do not turn anymore when in neutral (both used to turn when it was in neutral and on jack stands)
What I have done to the tranny:
-Replaced most of the tranny bearings (differential bearings, mainshaft bearing, counter shaft bearing, input shaft bearing and even the needle bearing in the tranny housing)--all are OEM parts
-Replaced synchros/sleeves--all are OEM parts from gearspeed
-LS fifth gear
-Initially tried honda MTF, didn't work. . .nice and loud
-Tried Pennzoil synchromesh, no luck either.
What I think could be the problem:
-Wheel bearings
-Something else in the tranny is messed up
-LSD is going bad (because the wheels do not rotate when in neutral,
-Shims
Please help, any input would be appreciated. I have dropped the tranny three times within the last couple months, it is a pain in the a$$ especially in a CRX. I have spent way too much money on this tranny, it is practically brand spankin' new. If anyone is willing to diagnose it, or can recommend a good shop to go to, please let me know. Thanks in advace.

Sounds like a super charger, other H-Ters say the LSD can be going bad. How do I inspect the diff when it is out?

Sound does not change, but I am going to replace it anyways!

Sounds like a plan!
I'll definately quadruple check the clearance this time.

Are you talking about the needle bearings directly on the shaft(s)? If so, I inspected them and they looked good. I just looked and rotated the gears on the shafts, smooth and sounded normal. Is there another way to check for the wear of the bearings?

I will probably take it to Aamco, but I hear it is about 175-200 just to diagnose at other shops! Are you sure it is free at Aamco? Also, I already changed the differential, it is still making the same sound (unless both my differentials are bad).
Thanks for the input guys. . .
for an answer to my problem!
