Default code 4 and car wont start

ok so for awhile now my girlfriends accord has been having a cel for code 4 which says ckp sensor. i have changed the dizzy several times (lifetime warranty) and the car wont start with any of the new dizzys. the car is a 95 lx. it has a 95 ex motor but we are still using the lx dizzy and engine harness and just wired in the vtec if that helps any. it has been throwing the code for awhile and just the other day it wont rev past 3500 rpm like the rev limiter is set that low. it has a chipped p28 in it with no rev limit and swapped the p0a ecu back in thinking that maybe the problem and came up with nothing. so now the car just sits until we can figure out what the problem is. does any one know what would cause the car to not start now. gotta get it fixed asap because of our baby boy. any help will be greatly appreciated

check the wires. see if you have them in the correct places. i also dont know if its makes a diff if you use the lx or ex dizzy. i know with a D16 mini me swap you have to have a Z6 dizzy in order for it to work correctly.

i checked the order of the plug wires. everything seemed correct. we orginally changed it due to it leaking oil past the seal. thats when the problem started. so swapped out with another new and it wouldnt start but it didnt throw a code. put the other one back on and car started right up but it still had the code. so drove it for a while and all of a sudden this morning it wouldnt start. so tried again with another new dizzy thinking maybe it was defective. nope no luck same problem. so once again on with the first dizzy and now it just wont start. i set it in the middle all the way advanced and all the way retarded. nothing. im lost and now thinking it could be something else but have no clue what it could be

From what you stated, still sounds related to the distributor. The distributor for an LX is different than for an EX, not saying it won't necessarily work.

Your problem may have to do with the direction of the rotor, as the direction of the rotor should be different on an EX engine vs. a LX engine. The old distributor you were using (although a LX distributor) probably had the rotor pointed in the right direction for an EX motor, while the new distributors' rotor were pointed in the direction for an LX motor.

if i were to pull the dizzy off and turn the rotor 180 degrees do you think that i would work?

Generally, on an EX motor, the rotor is pointing at around the 8 o' clock position; whereas, on the LX motor the rotor is pointing at the 1 o' clock position. Since you're are using a LX distributor, the setting may be slight different when used on an EX.

Open up the old distributor and take a look at the rotor's position, then compare it to the position of the rotor in the new distributor.

Have you been able to diagnose and fix this problem? My friend has a 95 Civic EX Coupe with a B16 and GSR tranny. The guy he bought it from had no limiter installed so it could rev pretty much all the way to 10k if you tried. Anyway, we replaced the MAP sensor, unplugged the O2, unplugged the TPS, took the battery out to reset the ecu and we are running out of ideas. It's also throwing a CEL once you hit 3500rpm but we have yet to find an OBD1 scanner

well after figuring out most of the problems i came to realize the wires were still outta order(half asleep when i checked it the first time). any way after redoing the wires again it started up but ran rough still and still couldnt rev it up past 3500. i wiggled some wires by the dizzy and by the ecu and the code went away and it could rev to the moon if i choose to. so there is a break in the wires some where i think. that or the cat is getting clogged because it was glowing one day and not the next so im gonna take it off and look at it
