Default Expletive hell...VTec issue arrises again, probably due to my ignorance...Help?

1991 CRX JDM Stock B16a obd0 PR3 ECU Unchipped, virgin

Ok, so I just got through getting my VTec to work a couple of days ago. I changed the oil and cleaned the soenoid valve, and also reconnected a loose wire going to the oil pressure switch on the back...

So I decided that I was gonna try a VTec light (Turns on when VTec is activated). I had a few bulbs laying around from alarms (leds) so I used one of those. I wired the + to pin a8 (vtec) which is also the wire that goes straight to the solenoid, and I grounded the - side. With everything hooked up, I turn the car to the on position, but didn't start it. Fuel pump primed correctly and the CEL went off like it's supposed to after turning the car on. So I started it...had a very rough starting idle for about 1-2 seconds then jumped up to normal ~800, just after the CEL came on. ECU is now throwing code 21 again, VTec.

Since then, I have changed my pressure switch (VTec) and also checked oil level. Everything is good. Also ran a wire from pin a8 straight to the solenoid, and still get CEL with code 21. No other codes are being thrown, although it smells to be running rich, but I can't verify that. I also changed the IAT sensor on the intake manifold, as this same thing happened to my civic, and changing the IAT fixed it.

Any help will be greaty appreciated. Thanks everyone.

BTW: Im going to check the ground and whatnot. Is there only that one ground (thermostat housing) for vtec to work correctly?

I fixed it guys...if anyone wants to know the problem, here it is...

I guess from having the wrong size voltage bulb, it burnt the actual pin on the ecu (pin a8, vtec), so the pin from the harness wasnt touching the pin on the ecu do to, I guess, corrosion from the voltage. I cleaned it off, and it works again. VTec indicator lights, ftl
