Best cam for my 90 CRX Si?
I'm running a stock CRX Si engine and i want some more added power. What's the best cam out their for my engine. I'm considering cost of course also but quality and results is what i'm really after.
Is a cam a good first mod? Where would you see gains, and how much should be expected? I am in the same situation, except I have an exhaust and ghetto intake.
Also, what else goes along with this, and what are the concequences? ex. need stiffer valve springs, more frequent valve adj., faster wearing valve terrain, higher redline, ect.

A cam's true potential is only realized AFTER getting the basic bolt ons. I already have those that's why i want to get a racing cam now. Their are different types of cams, for instance theirs cams made just for nitrous or turbo but their are also mild cams which give you a good idle and gives you good power. That's what i'm looking for. Cause my car is a daily driver. An extra 10 HP would be very nice.
Make sure to choose the bast cam for your needs or you will regret it.. Race cam = lumpy idle and little to no lowend power, top end gains.. Mild cam = great street setup.. close to stock idle, nice midrange and top end gains..
I have had both the JG cam and the Web Cam in my car.. both regrinds of course... both mild grinds. With a mild grind, expect to lose some lowend power, the powerband will become strong at around 4000rpm... not so great if youre running a stock ECU. I have an upgraded ecu, i would recommend getting a program that will adjust your redline and fuel curve accordingly.. I would highly recommend looking into a WEBCAM.

I used to have a Gude head with the works. That thing was pretty quick. I was doing mid 14's like nothing on street tires. It was a high compression setup, and I throroughly enjoyed it. Then my CRX was hit by an old beat to hell cougar and that ended that setup. Then I went turbo on my current CRX.
Hey i was seriously considering getting that Gude head package for the D16. So compared to the turbo set up you have now with the Gude, which set up was faster, better for you? So you had the Gude package right and you were running 14's? What other mods did you have?
