Default amp not getting any power

ok it was working when i first got it hooked up, but then while i was changing amps my friend accidently touched 2 wires and they sparked.. i hooked up the other amp and the "thermal" light came on and the amp wasnt powered.. then i got an amp that i KNOW works from my bro and hooked it up and the amp still isnt getting any power.. im guessing it has to be my wires and when my friend sparked the 2 together it messed something up.. anyone have any ideas?

Yup fuse on the power wire somewhere. If it was installed correctly it should be near the battery.

I agree, check the fuse.

When working on the car, disconnect the batt. neg.(-) lead.

Tell your friend not to quit his day job. 94

check the fuse, probably blown. Once you replace it there is any easy way to verify your getting power.

1) Start your car and rev the engine to ~6000RPM to get the alternator cooking
2) Install a distribution block which connects your power wire and ground wire.
3) Stand back and watch the fireworks.

haha jk but tell ur friend no more touchin wires or else you could be in bigger trouble than a fuse next time lol

If it not the fuse on your main power wire, you could have possibly blown the fuse on the turn on lead (if the head unit even had one) or you may have damaged the turn-on output circuit of the radio. Also check your ground. Lastly, kick your friend in the *****
