Default Anyone with negative feedback about tightening up the rear and adding a thicker rear swaybar?

Let's just say, I know why I'd want to get the Mugen 26mm rear sway and rear towerbar.

I'm curious if there are any outward comments or opinions about doing such for a track car IF, These were the FIRST suspension mods besides awesome sticky tires and LW wheels? It is NOT a daily driver and I AM beginning to want to customize the suspension.

you will cause oversteer easier with the 26mm bar.

i would suggest some z10 traction bars, as well as a nice set of coilovers if you have not already. then i would throw in atleast 6pt roll cage and get it over with if, i didnt drive the car much.

maybe a carbing upper brace (not sure if they make one for a civic though)

as well as yeah, the 26 mm rear brace

i would also replace all the panels with fiberglass or CF and then get speed bleeders, better calipers, and extremely light wheels.

.....I have *heard* that Mugen recommends 8k suspension to avoid tearing out the brackets that hold the thicker bar in.

I was planning on the full Mugen barset sometime soon, but it looks like I'll need suspension first... Makes the decision easier, doesn't it?

it's all in the works as is halfing the car and designing an integrated tire rack for the track tires.

I am very curious how the sway bar might effect it negatively. I know it will oversteer. I am just looking at small steps for the suspension and am curious if any who did it to an otherwise stock R suspension fared well or other.

I don't need it but, it would certainly make Auto-X more fun.

anton, if you want to make auto-x more fun...get a aftermarket steering wheel... 280mm that will make auto-x much much more interesting

Want to drift like me eh? My car is already tail happy with RSTB and that camera mount that act as a J's racing pillar mount. Auto-X is not too much of effects, but if the tail is able to swing out abit and enable you to slide around a corner is definetly fun!

According to a NeoMugen, drifting in a FWD is impossible.

Also in the works, as is a shell, harness and the works, I am still torn about removing the carpet though.

Ahh well, this winter will hold ALOT of decisions and reveal interesting results.

It's possible, but not able to counter steer it back easily...FWD CAN oversteer, but not as easy to correct and make use of drift/power slides as RWD can.

34F/40R

A nice smoothe slide and simple drift. Gotta watch the pressures like a hawk though. One hot lap without resetting them and the Hooisers make sounds.

when it was set correctly, it just felt awsome.

PS replacement road rubber is going on Tuesday

leave the carpeting. the extra 1 lb or 2 lb reduction is just not worth it in my opinion

but if you wanna blow out your race car, you provide the food, i'll provide some advice

the sound of gasoline sloshing around...priceless oh yes, like another thread i just replied in, getting a baffled oil pan may not be a bad idea either.

I don't know what kind of cars you drive, but catching a FWD is easy All you do is point where you want to go, nail the throttle and you can use the front end to pull the car back in line.

RWD cars are a lot more sensitive to countersteering and throttle inputs.

Actually, with a thicker rollbar, your car will become a RWD. It will have uncontrollable oversteer and you will hit 2 homeless guy on your way home.
