ITR lsd into GSR trans
i just got my itr lsd in and i was thinking about installing it myself. i work a lot on cars and know a good bit about motors but i dont mess with transmissions much besides taking them in and out. do you guys think i should try this or have a someone with exp. install this. i have an idea what to do but have never done it
any tips or advice would be great. i wont take offense if you guys say not to install just looking for an honest opinion.

It's a pretty easy job. The cleaning is the hard part. You just need the right tools to open the casing, and remove the diff beaings and VSS ring gear.
You'll replace the diff bearings and possibly the diff shim as well if it doesn't clearance properly as well anything that's worn or broken.

well what tools do i need i already have bearings on the lsd so i should be fine there, is the vss ring gear hard to remove any special tools needed. where exactly is the shim i might have to change, where exactly will there be clearance issues?
thanks for the help

If the bearings are on the lsd, then the VSS ring is already installed.
Do a search on tranny overhaul from archived content. There should be plenty of info on the tools you need.
