Default Water pump diag.

I'm rebuilding a block, and was going to replace the water pump while I'm at it but this one seems in great shape. There seems to be no play in the bearing. Are there any other things to inspect on it, or is it mostly just the bearing play that you can check?

Bearing play and visual inspection is all you can check. You know the timing belt will need to come off again to replace it in the future should you need to.
