i have a 92 hatch si and i just put a fully rebuilt D16Z6. im having a couple issues with it. first off my battery is losing its charge but the i tested the alternator and its perfect and i don't believe the battery is grounded anywhere. any ideas? second my clutch( stage 2) makes a cracking/crunching sound when i push it in. third is whenever i go to floor the gas i feel like the car goes nowhere. could it be due to my 2in exhaust pipping leading to a stock muffler(due to police tickets)? or exhaust leak? any ideas. im really stomp here. i really need feed back

as for the charging, check at the battery, and the alt. if theyre different theres a bad connection somewhere. as for the clutch, maybe not properly installed, or a bolt backed out, of a bad through out bearing maybe? these are just my suggestions of things to check. as for the power issue, maybe a bad or unhooked sensor. i dont think the exaust would cause that. id say start checking everything.

 

well i think i will check the clutch but im positive it was put in correctly. and has a new throughout bearing. connections at battery an alternator are good. could it be the distributor?

 

check spark. idk if it would be the dizzy but i guess it could. i would think that would keep it from runnin all together. maybe bad spark plug wires? or incorrect plug gap? theres a lot off different things it could be. its just a matter if checking them one by one untill you find what it is.

hey for the battery problem my 92 eg has this problem sometimes. all i do is poor a little pepsi on that positive turminal. sometimes the wire starts to corrotes inside so that can cause it to week out the charge. or just connect a ground from the battery to your engine. <-- i didnt need to do that. good luck

 

make sure the cable from alternator is connected to positve terminal of the battery
