How to tell if your front mount is bad?
I know for sure either the front or rear mounts are bad. I tried looking at the front one with a flashlight, but the bracket just gets in the way. Any tips?

To test front and rear engine mounts:
1. Get a friend to help you
2. Start the engine
3. With the hand brake up, pretend like you're gonna take off but push the clutch back in as soon as you feel it squat. Repeat this while your friend is watching the engine movement. He should stand next to the car, not in front of it btw. lol
4. Do the same in reverse instead of 1st gear. Observe the engine movement.
Depending on how bad the mounts are, you might feel the engine going up and down more than usual.

you can take the bracket off the front pretty easy to get a better look at the mount. if the rear is bad, you will likely be able to feel it if you give a little rev at idle and let it wind down. ive got a bad rear mount and a perfect front and i can feel it vibrate like hell as it winds down.
back from the dead alittle. I got a couple of pics of bad front mounts.

I didn't really notice any problems. The car seems much tighter now, that I replaced that and added the front ES inserts.
