how old will a walbro 255 fuel pump last?
the reason why im asking this question is because i have had mine for about 3 years now (boosted all the time) and my car is now bogging really bad when i get into about 5psi. i raced all day today and it was fine, but when driving home i went to pass someone and it completly cut out it seemed. so can they fail that fast? i probably have about 10k on the pump
What do you mean it cut out? If the fuel pump were to cut out/loose power while driving the car would shut off.
Do you have a wideband hooked up? Maybe your plugs fouled after racing hard all day.

My 190lph got really loud and started leaning the motor out at WOT above 4000rpm and would lean misfire at higher rpm's tipping in to accelerate. This is normally aspirated.
I had a Walbro 255HP that lasted less than 1 month, it just took a crap on the freeway one day. I ended up pulling off the seat and banging on it until it spun up again. I replaced it with the exact same model and I still have it.
Sounds like you are having other problems. Find someone with a wideband, at least.

they will or at least should start to get real loud when they are crapping out.
im on my 2nd car, 4th or 5th motor and a solid 50k miles with the same pump no problems at all

My walbro 255 GSS-340 went for 2 1/2 years and about 3k miles boosted not a daily driver then went out on the hy way , had to pull over and let it cool so it can start, But that was probably my fault cause I only kept 2 to 4 gallons of fuel in the tank all the time.

that will definately cause premature failure. happend to a friend of mine with only a few thousand miles tops. he used to run the tank dry or well below 1/4 and it crapped out one day. ive only taken mine below 1/8 once or twice, and try to keep it at least 1/4. having the pump submerged in gas in the tank helps to dissipate the heat and keep it cool and from overheating
