Oil Pressure Gauge Question/problem
Bought a Autometer Electric Oil Pressure gauge and hooked it up to my h22 civic. Ran the wires right, grounded it right and so on.
-Wire from sending unit to gauge
-Wire from cd player power to gauge
-Wire from ground to gauge
-Used teflon tape on the brass fitting for the sending unit
Now here's the question/problem:
-When I turn on the ignition....needle jumps up to 75 (0-100psi gauge)
-When I turn the car on and it idles...it shows no pressure
-When I start to give it gas the needle will move depending on how much gas i give it.
-If I floor it, the gauge goes up but doesnt pass 50. It will hit 50 and drop back down
-If Im crusing at ANY speed it shows no pressure at all
So did I do anything wrong or do I maybe have a bad sending unit?
And YES I have oil in the motor. Just changed the oil 2 days ago.
If I can I will take a vid of it and post it on here later tonight.

You shoud just switch to a mech. gauge. It was so easy to hook up and there is so much less to go wrong. It's also more accurate. I know this doesn't help now but it's a thought.
