Default can someone help with sensors?

While i drove my new CRX home, the check engine light came on, so I peeled the passenger carpet back, and the light was blinking 7 times. I checked this on the net, and it said I need to check my engine coolant temperature sensor. Has this happened to any of you before? Is it hard/cheap to fix? thanks

The engine coolant temperature sensor is a pain in the *** to change. It's on the back of the block on the D16A6 engine (Assuming you have an Si, dx and hf are probably the same though) It's beside the oil filter (above it the left) and you'll need a 1+1/16 inch socket, a deep one. Keep in mind that you'll pee coolant everywhere when you take it out... Also, use teflon tape on the thread when you put the new one in or it'll leak badly. Hope this helps Just be SURE that it is the coolant temp senor that is the problem... big PIA to change.

Check the wiring plug, make sure that it is not fried, and basically check all the small crap. If everything looks fine, then I'm afraid you'll have to change it. As for the thanks, don't worry about it at all. Just glad to help a fellow rexer. BTW, are you in Vancouver, BC?

Hey right on If you need D16A6 parts, I got two motors and an 88 Si tranny sitting in my garage. The motors are an 88 and an 89, the 89 has a snapped timing belt, but lots of useful stuff. The 88 runs. IM if you ever need parts for cheap

last time i check, code 7 is the tps sensor. reset your ecu just to see if code 7 would come back. if it does, replace your sensor. it's mounted on your throttle body. code 6 is the coolant sensor. it's located in front of the engine. you need a 19mm (3/4") wrench or a long 19mm (3/4") socket to replace the sensor.

I think you mean 0.5 volts (at idle).
