Default Quick clearance question for SFWD motor

Anyone in the forum have a roundabout measurement of a GSR main cap opening without bearings installed?

I believe I measured mine last night to be 2.450, which seems a bit big. I did it using a mic set to 2.3000 then a dial bore gauge zero'd out in the mic that read a +25 (25 x .0005) in the main bore.

While I'm at it... anyone have the ACL RACE bearing thickness for the STD size?

Disregard, looks like I actually wound up measuring 2.3250 for the bore, 2.1650 on the journal, and hopefully .0790 for each ACL RACE bearing for a clearance of .002

OEM Honda actually has a range. On a GSR engine, journals 1,2,4,5 are between .0009-.0017 and service limit is .002.
Journal 3 is .0012-.0019 and service limit is .0024

This gives a large window for OEM spec and work great for upgraded engines as well. Reason company's like ACL, Clevite and other manufactures can make a single size replacement bearing.

Quite a few race motors are built w/ more than .003 clearance on the mains/rods.

Do you mind if I ask what bearings you use to achieve this?

Lots of dyno passes and 3 races on the same block and still going. Just need to make sure you have enough constant oil pressure
