Default Bearing race? Different from bearing?

What's the difference between bearing and race bearing? I'm thinkin a bearing race is where the bering sits, since I've read in a manual new bearing should never be used old race and vice versa.

You're right, the bearing race is the groove that the bearings roll in.

Yep. The race is the outside and inside parts of the bearing that are not actually the ball bearings. You shouldn't reuse either because they are wear parts. The constant moving on each other causes grooves in the races.

Awesome! When purchasing s bearing, does a race come with it, or do I need to purchase it seperately?

Most come as a bearing/race together. What are you trying to buy?

I'd like to replace my inner and outer front wheel bearings for my Toyota.

Yeah, they should be sold as bearing assemblies...

Here is a pic of a honda front bearing (#2 in the pic). The bearings are captured between the two races, and sold as one unit...
