They go great with a fully built NA setup and a nice tune.

Plus another 1000 to build your block and a good tune to make the car run right. You could have had a turbo kit for that price. 10-20 hp out of the cams or 100+ hp from a turbo for that same price. I really do not get peoples logic.

Many people are under the false impression that upgrading cams, or any "N/A" build is somehow a lower-cost alternative to forced induction. In truth, if done properly both can end up costing quite a bit.

Obviously more power can be made with a good turbo setup than with a good N/A setup on the same engine. However, the results are very different in both power delivery and overall driving feel. If all you're after is absolute power, N/A is obviously not the route to take.

A built NA car needs tunning just as bad as a turbo car.

It's obviously preference and what kind of goal the individual has. I spent close to the same on my cams/retainers/valve springs. Parts in general aren't cheap, and if they are cheap, you can definately tell once they are installed.
