Default moroso crank pulley holder

Ok, I think I need to get one, but all the shops here are closed. Have any of you guys bought one? How much are they? Is the crank pulley bolt reverse threaded? Thanks for any help...

It is standard thread. You dont need one. Keep the flywheel on the crank and have one person hold it. Get a breaker bar and have at it. Took me and my dad about 15 minutes of this but it finally came off.

HTH.

the engine is still in the car though. Just put a towel over the flywheel and hold it? What about placing a block between a rod and the inside of the block? will this hurt anything? Thanks

Poor man's crank holder...Take a piece of steel strap and drill a hole in each end. One end bolts to one of the holes where the clutch bolts to the flywheel. The other end bolts to any handy spot on the engine block. Pix of this homemade tool have been posted here before.
BTW, I know you are still thinking that maybe the threads are reverse on the crank pulley bolt, but they aren't. When you put the pulley bolt back in, use some anti-seize on the threads.
Not sure you want to take a chance on hurting something internally with your block of wood idea. Good luck

Why dont you just get a long flat-head screwdriver. Stick it in one of the teeth of the flywheel, then brace it against one of the dowel pins. ( I have done this many times, the flywheel will not go anywhere)

Yeah, thanks. I gotta get a breaker bar tomorrow-already broken 2 ratchets, good thing they're Craftsman right? I'll try those, hopefully can get tomorrow. Thanks a lot

All those ghetto ways don't work as well as the moroso crankshaft pulley remover. Bought mine from summit racing for $70 shipped
