y r short ram intakes better with big cams?
i heard this 'rumor' somewhere?
short ram intakes r better than cai's when it comes to big lobe cams...
this true
has it been dyno proven??

depends on what rpm the intake piping is tuned for.
BTW this info has been around for 40+ years now.

so if i have a longer thiner intake pipe, will this 'create' better torque accross the curve?
alternatively, if i had a shorter fatter intake pipe will it be better for power?
(cold-air issues asside...)

Actually they are not talking about the air inlet tube but the manifold inlet runner length. That is the distance from intake valve to plenum or air horn on ITB's. The higher RPM's of race cams want a shorter runner for max BHP it also reduces bottom end torque. Variable length air horns , that change with RPM's isold F-1 stuff.
