235/40/17 or 225/45/17 or 215/4017
Hey guys I got my new wheels, Enkei RPM2's in hyper black, 17 x 7 , But now I need to get some tires and I don't know what size will fit. I would love to run some 235/40's up front but I'm not sure if they will fit. Right now the car is on Skunk2 springs and KYB adjustables. It lowered the car around 2.25" And looks awesome but I'm not sure if I can squeeze some 235's under there. And if I had to go 225's, I'm not sure that a 45 aspect ratio wouldn't rub... I plan on rolling the fenders a little but not anything crazy. input would greatly be appreciated. Anybody on 235/40/17's all around?
Matt
If you can find them 235/40 will fit BETTER than the 225/45. the 235/40 have an over all diameter of 24.5" as where the 225/45 have an over all dia of 25.1" however a 225/40 is 24.1" in dia. I hope this helps. A 195/60/15 has a 24.2" dia. just for a stock reference.

here's what my 5th gen looks like on 225/40/18, on 18x8 not sure if this helps but 225 rubs bad especially in the rear, that's y i had to keep it at that height. on a bounce you'll hear it rub against the wheel well...i would suggest 215 for best results

you can see how close that cuts it on 205.45.17s on 1.5 eibach lowering springs. i hit wheel well on hard elevation changes a lot thought
Im not sure on how much ill help you out but im runnin 17x8 with 225-40 with a +43 off set and I have no rubbing issues and im also dropped all the way on tein basics. Here's a few pics for reference...

Your car looks perfect. I assume you're running the Nitto's since you've got 225/40's? Did you roll your fenders? The wheels I have are 45 offset and 7" wide. I still can't decide what to do. So are 235's are pretty much ruled out?
I went nankings for now they were cheap and I wanted tires asap at that time lol but na I didnt have to roll my fenders I do rub slighty when I flipa bitch with three people in the car but then of course thats with three people weighing down the car but doesnt rub all that much under those circumstances
Well to be on the safe side, manufacturers recomend having at least a 7.5 inch wide wheel for a 225/45 but i have heard of people even tracking their cars with those specs and no reported accidents. so the 215s are recomended....but its no law
