Default clutch/trans problems

Hey guys I have a 97 civic cx hatchback with a 2000 B16 and recently ive had problems getting into 1st gear at stops.

I replaced the slave cylinder thinking that was it but it didnt work. any ideas on what it could be, the master cylinder is a possibility but im not sure.

Did you put Honda MTF back in it, or something else?

Honda MTF, but even if it was a different fluid i don't think it would have an effect like this.

Just for future reference, always test the clutch disc on the input shaft before install, sometimes burrs can make the disc stick to the shaft. Was the rust (if any) cleaned off the input shaft before the install? And are you sure the clutch lines are fully bled?

Hold in the clutch for about 5 seconds or so from a stop, and then try to shift, and see if it still grinds. If it does, I would suspect the clutch disc hanging up on the input shaft.
