the oil light on eg cluster, what does it do?

 

It lets you know when you are out of oil. Not good.

 

doesnt it light when pressure is low

 

no it lights up when you got no oil the objective is too never see that light come on

 

light means no oil presure.. even 1/2 quart of oil will give you oil presure

i thought so, its not a level indicator. like if you don't have any oil then obviously you wont have any pressure, but if you have a faulty pump or something it will light too.

 

it also come on when someone steal your motor.. im also told it will come one 3 secs right before a nuclear blast with in 100 feet of you.. lol..

It emits light due to an electric current passed through a filament in a gas-filled tube.

Oh, what does it mean? Low oil pressure, and it's definitely not good. Could be due to a bad oil pump, clogged pickup, or lack of oil.
