What car/engine? The CKF Bypass is for emissions, mainly. It's for people running a JDM OBD2 or OBD1 engine in an OBD2 car and want to use an OBD2 USDM ECU to pass BAR in Cali or emissions in states where they plug in the scan tool. I'm in AZ and in Phoenix and Tucson they use the scan tool for OBD2 cars which are '96 and up, I believe. The point of bypassing that sensor is so that you don't have to replace your oil pump on your JDM engine to use a USDM ECU.

if you are using an OBD1 ECU then you do not need the CKF sensor.
