Default obd2 to obd1

so it's inspection time for me, and my options are limited. i was wondering is there anyway to wire up the obd port to a step-down harness ? my vehicle is obd2a stepped down to obd1. curious if anyone every tried this ? or if it can be done? in my state the dmv plugs their computer in and checks for readiness and engine codes. i figure if you can wire up that port it would make life easier for us street cars to pass emissions.

OBD1 ECU's will not display OBD2 readiness codes nor communicate via an OBD2 port. You are basically stuck with finding an OBD2 ECU that will run your engine well enough to smog.

Can you not just plug the stock computer in for the duration of the test & put it back into fun mode afterwards?
