I haven't driven my car much at all in the last 2 months. Probly 3-4 times. I got in it to take it up to get smogged and noticed that it would run fine below 5k but after it should have crossed over into vtec it would just backfire like a ****. I called the guy that tuned it and he suggested a bad vtec solenoid. I changed the solenoid and then got back in the car. It ran ok but I didnt get a chance to take it into the upper rpms. I then got back in the car a couple hours later and it would bog and hesitate at lower rpms and then when i would try to get it up higher it would start to backfire a bit and not want to go any higher in the rpm range. what would be causing this?

the motor is a piston rod b16b with basically a drag kit.

 

how old is the fuel?

 

hmm 3 months maybe. its 100 octane. last week i put in another 5 gallons of it and there are probly only 2 gallons of old fuel in it.

 

is 3 months too old for fuel to be sitting?>
