i prefer hatch.cause it is lighter. .....which one is better or worse.it depends on individual.someone prefer coupe cause it has power options. to me i prefer it light weighted. i have a eg hatch as my project car. i dont need any power options. i dont even need back seats.so i took them off. not too much weight to reduce but the eg is my second car.i have a suv as a dd.

Coupe, whether its a EG or EK.

EX coupes in the mid 90's started the Honda thing. People werent even driving hatches, cause everyone thought they were ugly.

Only after this Gran Turismo SiR2 and Type R ****, did anyone pay attention to the hatch.

Anyways, coupes look waaaay better, and if you dont want power options and light wieght, there is a DX coupe.

I had a midori with 99-00 front, and my current coupe as far as EK goes. I only got the midori cause I knew I could use the Midori craze to get a good trade on it. I hated driving that thing, roll-up windows are so gay, so is missing all the option buttons.

The good thing about coupes is the general public likes the looks of them. For some reason the only people that appreciate hatch's are the tuners and people who know cars. Bad thing about coupes, atleast around here, is that all of the hardcore ricers drive them. While nice hatch's are very rare in my area.

short answer: depends.

On what? well, it depends on whether you like coupes or hatches better.

Hatches are better for hauling, slightly lighter, and usually have less options. Any other difference is a matter of preference.

By you asking this question, it seems like you're more concerned about whether honda-tech will like it better if you get a coupe or a hatch.

You make it sound like you have to be hardcore to have a hatch, and that no one with a coupe has any "creds".

I will sacrifice weight for aesthetics and comfort anyday.

Back when I had my 94 EX coupe, I did a B16, and my buddy had a 94 CX hatch gutted with a Z6. His car could keep up with mine, but he had a gutted *** no options shoebox, whereas my car was comfortable, and looked better.

I had a H22 LSD bottled GSR that did 12's. Could have been much faster in a hatch, but it would just be another swapped hatch with out any comforts. Gay.

Hell, if someone with a swapped and turbo'd hatch offer to trade for my stock motor having HX I wouldn't do it.

Point is, I am as "hardcore" as any hatch lover, but I have to like my the way car looks and rides. I will only drive HX, EX, Si, GSR, and del Sol Si or VTEC. No DX or CX crap. I remember not being able to wait to get rid of my midori EK.

Don't ask us it's all personal preference. If you're really worried about the weight difference you need to get over yourself.

Get whichever one looks better, the "amenities" can be added easily.

My hatch has oem a/c, ps, and power door locks that came with my alarm.

The weight difference between a CX hatch and an EX coupe is about 200 pounds (that's the list - A/C was optional on all cars that didn't get it though).

I'd get the coupe any day. I like how they look better. They have power options and they have the option of a moonroof if you get an EX (or Si).

My boyfriend and I have both. He drives a '97 CX and I drive a '98 EX. He's even been adding more options to his CX, which makes it heavier. He likes the hatch look better though and it doesn't have the heavy *** end.

I love my EJ1 (93-95coupe). IMO they look very clean with a nice subtle drop, rims and a clean OEM lip. Hatches are nice also, but they just lose their appeal as you start traveling to the rear of the car(92-95). Weight shouldnt really be an issue. I hate hearing about weight factors. If its such a problem then they should build the motor more or lose weight. In the end it will all be your decision. If I were to choose between the coupe/hatch(96-00) I would go with the EJ8 from 99-00. The front end just looks better.

hatch-its lighter and it looks better. The only reason I can think that someone would want a coupe is the extra weight out back helps with weight distribution.

I have had 2 coupes, I'm not dissing them, I'm just stating how i see the hatch and coupe drivers in my area. I prefer coupes, I like how the po po has to have a warrant to search my trunk.

I have one of both 94 coupe and 92 hatch. When I switch my motor to my hatch I dropped almost a half second off my quarter. Moral: same exact modifications with less weight is faster. Though I do swear the chassis seemed stiffer on the coupe.

personally, i prefer coupes, i have an 00 Si. imho they look better and i am kinda tall so i bang my head on the hatches if i am reaching in the back. also, having roll-up windows and a sunroof is very nice too.
