Well im debating on whether to purchase this s2k exhaust off an AP1 i believe to put onto my 92 hatchback. Reason being the local police department are cracking down and being a pain about any illegaly modified exhausts. It doesnt matter how quiet it is or anything, if its not stock than you cant have it. So im here wondering if anyone has put it on a hatchback specifically because of the smaller area to fit and would like to know if it has been done and if anyone has the dimensions of the exhaust? Thanks in advance.
i think i have what u are looking for.i have a eg hatch with oem s2000 rear end mufller. it is very quiet and very high flow.twin loop designed.i have it welded on by a muffler shop.
the chrome tip is removable.without chrom tip on. it is 2.5" in diameter..with chrome tip on.it is 3.5" in diameter.i measured it before i put it on
here is a pic of it

I've got a 07 si muffler on my 2000 hatch. It sounds good even with the exhaust leak I've yet to get fixed.
Fit's great, looks good. Ditched the oval tip for a stock ex tip.

If the 07 si hatch doesn't, then I assume that the 07 civic si coupe does. Would you know?

where in NY are you? They dont bother me. So you are saying everyone who gets a new replacement exhaust at meineke mufflers has an illegal exhaust! That doesnt seem right. every 15 year old car would have an illegal exhaust then. This must be some crazy town law it cant be state wide, have you gone to the town and asked to see what the actual law they are citing you for? Or just do like me and get some out of state tags so they cant bother you.

Actually im in florida now. But as in modified exhaust i assume they only mean aftermarket performance exhausts. Its becoming annoying getting bothered and cited for it. It's happened twice, even while my car was parked and an officer comes up and says it's illegal, mind you its chambered with cat/resonator and is quiet. So im just going for a stock muffler off of an s2k. I was leaning towards a ITR/CTR. But i got a good deal on one.

They probably mean ANY exhaust that didn't come stock on your car. They want to know it was approved already to be on that car.

look more closely into your local laws, sometimes you can find loopholes
i got pulled over for "amplified exhaust" i called bullshit on this because being a state inspection mechanic i own the book that has the vehicle codes and regulations in it, and as long as i could prove that my car is quieter with my exhaust on it than it is if i were to run open header then i am perfectly legal. Needless to say i got a "verbal warning" yeah didn't expect him to admit he was wrong.
