Default smokin h22 in v-tech

2000 prelude, 90k on motor, runs great, uses 1 quart of oil every 150 miles, running super rich, no smoking till v-tech is engaged, very bad, huge cloud. Stock ecu, 02 sensors test good, stock internals? any suggestions?

Yeah ... get off the VTEC bottle, nitrous is more safe.

check your spark plugs and let me know what they look like. i had similar symptoms. if your plugs are covered in oil i'll elaborate on what my problem was.

black and blue, in know it is rich and i know it is using oil. I have run a compression test, passed, leak down test, passed. new t-belt, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, cleaned injectors and intake, cleaned egr ports, replaced valve guide seals. The part that is confusing me is, why it only smokes in v-tec, excuse the incorrect spelling earlier. I have stumped many a master mechanic with this one, i only have guesses. Trying to see if anyone else has had this problem. no oil on plugs, just carbon build up. I am thinking bent valves or cracked piston.

have you done a compression test yet?
Did you do anything to the engine when you got it? (rebuild/head gasket only)
know anything about the history of the engine? (how many miles were on the engine when you got it?)
how are the valve seals?
sounds like when it kicks in the V-tec (of course more pressure is placed on the oil) and that has to go some where, just a thought.

Save your money for a REBUILD or JDM motor....your engine is FUBAR'd....

How do people keep making the VTECH mistake when its SPELLED VTEC on your car at least once.......This tells me you have never popped the hood before.
