Default Need a straight answer for a vtec pressure switch

I just swapped in a 98+ jdm b18c type r motor with a jdm p73 motor. I got a vtec wiring harness from rywire.com which came with plugs for a vtec solonoid, vtec pressure switch, and a knock sensor. Now I am pretty sure I've heard that the p73 b18c5 motors dont use a vtec pressure switch but I just want to make sure that I just don't need to use that plug for anything. Thanks

The USDM p73 motors have a vtec pressure switch, the JDM p73 motors have that sensor blocked off and doesn't use it at all, if you have a JDM ecu, don't worry about that plug. If you are using a USDM ecu, just ground the wire for the vtec pressure switch. Grounding it would let the ecu think there is sufficient oil pressure for vtec to engage.

ughh, yes for a little while then it may set a CEL for the switch. (most ECUs do, some don't)

connecting the VTEC oil pressure switch to the VTEC solinoid control line results in no CEL with any ECU.

but if the jdm p73 ecu doesnt even look for a vtec pressure switch, why would i need to do that?

Your original post said P73 Motor twice, but never mentioned ECU, so they were just covering all the bases. You are good to go without worrying about it.
