Help installing shocks and Springs on front
I could not remove the damper fork-to-lower control arm bolt if my life depended on it.
Any tips or techniques?
If I need a compressor, I was thinking of buying one anyways, I've seen a 2HP 5gallon and a 5HP 10 gallon ~$168 I think, what would be the smallest one I could get to do most jobs?
Thanks

put your arm into it. you really dont need to remove anything but the shock itself.
if you think youre having problems with the front wait until you get to the rear LCA bolt

First question: Do you have Helm's manual?
-if yes, then forget this question.
Second question: Are you trying to take out the damper folk and shock as a unit?
-You should be able to slide down the LCA so that there's room to take out the shock. Once the shock is out, then you go ahead and take out the folk.

I am in CA, bay area.
I never think about the breaker bar, I will try that although it makes it hard because there is no good angle to use it, I will need to lift the car really high. I'll try it.
I am trying to move the fork so I can take out the shock and springs.
Do I really really need to take off or at least take the bolts of the stab bar? it doesn't seem like I do.
I don't have helms I have Haynes basically the same thing.
Thanks

it works well for removing and installing shocks and springs....
I got everything off, I bought an extender and that did it.
Now the problem is the Damper mounting base does not fit into the shock rod.
Anyone installed GC/Konis before?

Well, first thing's first. You won't get anywhere if you're using a 3/8" wrench. You NEED to use a 1/2" (edit: with at least a 15" handle). It doesn't need to be that high. I usually have the car sitting on the bottom setting, or the next to bottom setting on jackstands.

I just dremeled the mounting base holes to the size of the Koni rods, everything is in and I took it for a ride, its a huge difference, I knew it would be better but I did not expect this much better
