Default new build, oil pressure woes

81.5mm b18c1
moroso 5.5q oil pan with pickup
new oil pump
golden eagle sandwich plate

at first start up i primed the motor and turned it over without starting it to get oil pressure up.... started up fine oil pressure was fine for a couple of minutes then oil light starts flickering, at this time we didnt have an oil pressure gauge

get new oil pump, prime it, turn over like before to build pressure, start up and its fine, oil pressure seemed good and no oil pressure light.... again a couple of minutes later and light starts flickering at idle

at this point decide to get oil pressure gauge and hook it up, barely any oil pressure at like 1500rpm's and decided to shut it off like that

only problems i ran into with the build was i put all the nuts in bolts in cleaners so they would be clean when it was time to assemble, while doing this i put the oil orifice squirter that goes between cylinder 2 and 3 in the block, when it came time to build it the o-ring was swollen so bad it wouldnt work, so i went to autozone and got the closest o-ring i could find that would fit, it fit great except when i put it into the block it was a royal pain..... eventually got it to fit but im wondering if that tore would it e causing the symptoms im having?

you are talking to the o-ring on the head for the cams or the one in the oil jet on the block?

i usually buy new oil jets for all the builds so i've never had that problem but i guess if it did tore it will loose some pressure but to what extent i cant tell you for sure... sorry there if it broke completely then yeah i bet it can make very low oil pressure problems..
