I have a 2002 rsx type-s.... Last night, my friend were on the highway and decided to race. We both put it in 1st gear and took off. When I was trying to shift into 4th gear, it seemed as if it did not want to get into gear. so I miss 4th and the RPM just JUMPED WAYYYYY TOO HIGH and jerked my car forward. My engine check light started flashing and my check oil light and battery light came on too. When i was getting off the highway, the car died on me. When i try to start it, it seems like it is trying to turn over, but it wont. I called a buddy of mine and he said it could be a bent valve or valves or maybe even a rod. Can i get your guys' opinion on this? THANK YOU!

does anyone know where i can get OEM rsx-s valves from? thanks again..

 

bent valves are the least of your worries. start looking for a new motor and in the meantime have the car towed somewhere to somebody who can diagnose and find out exactly what happened. To me it sound like you blew your motor but i couldnt tell for sure unless i could see it for myself.

 

You missed 4th....so what gear did you put it in instead then?

 

you overrevved by how long and in what gear did you put it in if you missed 4th? my guess is 2nd?

from the sound of it, it does sound like you bent a valve. I'm not 100% sure because i'm not near the car but that's what it sounds like.

 

went from 3rd back into 2nd

 

sounds like it could be a valve, a buddy of mine did the same thing, he was racing and he was in third and instead of hitting fourth he hit second and bent his valves, but your scenario seems a little worst

As for the question, anything is a guess until you have a mechanic pull the head and take a look.
