Default New project for me, B18 or B20 into EG civic hatch

Im about to get a car for going to uni and back and want to keep the milage off my other hondas. Thought I cant resist not having a play so heres what im thinking.

Im gonna grab a EG civic with high mileage but ok bodywork then swap out the motor to a b18 or b20 depending on whats readily available at the time. I know this swap has been covered lots but I cant find a breakdown of what parts are needed to carry out the swap. This is literally old engine out new(er) engine in and thats all, a complete sleeper with any luck.

My questions are what parts are needed? Im guessing motor, tranny, wiring loom and ECU.
Where can I get some mounts to do the job?
what axle combo can I run without having to look down the aftermarket route?

I think thats pretty much it unless ive missed something. Im hoping to do this swap in the next 2 months and am getting the shell between now and tuesday

cheers

Yeah I did take a look at passwordjdm and wasnt keen on their prices
this isnt going to ever be a track car just a nice simple B18 or possibly b20 swap. I just need some crappy mounts to get the damn thing in.

After getting the engine, tranny, ECU and loom plus aftermarket mounts I just need to know what axle combo I can run? Im looking for very much a budget swap, doing all the labour myself I just dont wanna start the job and find out ive got more parts to order thats all.

You can use oem civic mounts except for the t bracket for the tranny, I think, don't wote me on that... Axles, Ecu, wire harness, throttle cable and mounts... Your gonna have to play with the throttle cable to get the idle right unless you get the b16 throttle cable then it almost perfect if not perfect... I gotta b20... Before that I had gone thru 2 LS motors... That last LS motor was swapped into my teg and I bought a b20 to put in my hatchback...

Im guessing that I can only use the stock mounts if it is a B series chassis(i.e. the previous engine was B series)? is that right? most mount kits say b16 b18 and b20 conversion so that would make sense.

I'll grab the B16 throttle cable I can live with spending that, just wanna keep everything else cheapish if poss or to a budget. Has anyone got more info on the axle setup?

You want the mounts for a b series and then your chasis. An example would be B series EK mounts. That is usually how its classified when it comes to aftermarket mounts. If you go OEM it works the same way, but get something like B16 mounts.
