Default 210 PSI in cylinders 1-3 but 170 psi in #4??!! Should I worry?

GSR block with CTR pistons 81 mm spoon 2 layer with b16 head (poor man R)

i finally did a comp test and for 210 210 210 170

i think i know why...during the installion of the rings we broke the compression ring but i had another set of rings little did i know they were for a .10 over piston so we filed down the ends slightly then installed em on the piston

we were joking around and said if this cylinder has slightly less comp then the rest this is why! well no joke now

anyways should i be worried at all? car doesnt smoke and vtec still engages strong

+ my valves have not been adjusted since i had most of the valves replaced

and another thing it doesnt leak compression either it stays strong at those numbers

I also thought my numbers would be ALOT higher though?

210psi? seems low as well.. with ctr pistons, i was expecting 260+.

could be a low reading gauge.....

they are all consistent except for #4.

Do a leak down and figure out where its leaking.

leak down test for sure...

on my setup my test was 240 240 0 240.

check the plugs to see if any are fouled out or saturated in gas.

now that is time to be worried... numerous possibilities: pistons rings shot... valves might be bent, the list can go on

Hope the information being shared by everyone can help you out

low reading gauge, i kindof thought most gauges, for compression testing were the same, at least the ones from autozone or advanced or even oreiali's or however u spell it , i get 270psi across the board on mine, i would expect more from his ctr pistons.

huh,you didnt adj the valve lash after you had some valves replaced??

why not?

anytime you remove your head or even your valve cover at all you should make it a habit to check the valve lash and adj as neccesary.. ESPECIALLY if you replaced some valves...

the machine shop replcaed some of the valves that were bent or damaged or whatever

did u even KNOW that some cars wont even START without a valve lash prior to start up?

seriously just do a valve lash if u really havent. then try to diagnose problems
