hello fellow teggy drivers. im having a little trouble with my car. i have a 91 ls with a b18b and a cable ls tranny (b18a tranny). i was driving one day, and all of a sudden the tranny wouldnt go into gear. im sure it has something to do with the shift linkage or the gearbox, not the clutch. the shifter cant lock into gears. put it this way: i can go from 1st gear to 5th, directly. meaning i dont have to bring the shifter back into neutral position from 1st gear in order to go to 5th. same goes for 2nd to reverse. regardless, it doesnt stay in gear. the clutch doesnt effect anything in any way. has anyone ever come across this problem before? if anyone knows what the problem could be, please let me know. thanks a lot guys.

 

1. Jack up car
2. Position jackstands in safe place
3. Inspect Shift Linkage check for unusual bends, breaks, cracks, etc... have someone move the shifter around while you are under the car.
4. Replace shift linkage or whatever is broke.
