Default brake light

when i started up my car this morning and stepped on the brake...the light came on. and went off after about 3-5sec. it would come on and off like that whenever i applied the brakes. although now it hasn't come on since the morning, does anyone know what this could be???

check your brake fluid to see if you need to refill it.

If he does need to fill it, he's got one of two problems

1: a fluid leak somewhere in the system
2: time for new pads

Brake fluid doesn't simply disappear

^ Does the car have a sensor or something that detects it needs new pads? Mine does that sometimes too and my fluid is pretty much at level.

Nope. It detects when the fluid is low. When you need new pads, there's a large amount of brake fluid in the caliper bore, which would otherwise be in the resevouir. Basically, it's telling you to inspect your brake system because there is low fluid
