Default trans linkage attachment point = dead

Im looking at maybe buying this b16 trans, but the section where the linkage attaches to snapped off (I dont know how)
Nope, I havent asked the seller if the stud has been removed from the linkage yet.

I have never looked into tig before (or welding period, for that matter)...
What would it take to repair this? I know this area of the trans isnt thick enough to just drill and tap a m12 hole, to attach just a bolt for securing linkage.

No ridiculing, but what about forming a new stud with that alumaloy crap they sell on tv? Just form a stud, drill, tap, done?

the crap they sell on t.v. sucks.. it will make things difficult when you take it to to be welded after it breaks..
you might pay between 25 and 50 bux at any weld shop to get that tig welded back on.. it would have to be V'd out really good and really clean.. Make sure you find someone that knows what they're doing.. Any welding on cast aluminum you gotta watch you dont put a lot of heat into it.. Sometimes if you get too much heat it will crack... only other option is making some kind of custom bracket comming off of annother bolt..

Its just a snapped stud
Worst case is it needs a replacement clutch housing...

Just take it to a welding shop. If you could just taking the casing alone would be perfect, but if you have to take the whole thing do it you could. If you dont want to pay more clean it off really good, sand it down then take some rubbing alcohol and wipe it down and your good to go.

It all really depeneds what the dude wants for the tranny.... I wouldn't pay a whole lot for it... its definitely fixable.. Those trans aren't exactly easy to come by. or cheap for that matter.

seller wants 250, which is a decent deal
aside from this there are no other known problems

If its going to cost me $200+ to fix, its not worth it...under $100 = definately worth it

At my weld shop we charge about 55 dollars/hour labor.. I can't see that job taking any more than an hour to fix..
