aHonda Accord 87 Lxi - sedan
Hi,
Can someone please help?
The car starts fine but once it's run for a bit (wamred up) the PGM-FI light comes on, and I begin to have intermittent troubles.
* It is slow to take off, and doesn't want to go up in gear, struggles.
* The temprature gauge goes up and begins to over heat, then the gauge will come down again and then go up again, and so forth.
* And then when I put the car in Park "P", the car's revs is unstable, it goes from 1 up to 2 and back and forth and won't idle right.
* Once the car has cooled and I start the car again, everything is fine again until it warms up and the problem repeats.
Has my car lost it's marbles..?
Help!!

It sounds like you have air in the cooling system, top off the radiator and fill the overflow bottle to the full mark with antifreeze, keep an eye on the system for a few days, only open the system cap when cold.
The idle is affected by low coolant and air in the idle control valve.
