what does a bare GSR shortblock weigh(roughly)?

I would say about 100 - 150 lbs. Why are you trying to lift it up or trying to figure out which motor is lighter for weight reduction.

Get a thick piece of plywood so you don't cave in the thin piece that came standard.

Yeah I have carried a few in the back of my hatch no big deal. Just dont put it on that thin piece of wood.

I don't think you'll be racing anybody between the machine shop and your house, so I don't think it'll be a problem.

Damn my Y7s block was heavy as ***** i threw it on the scale for ***** and gigles completely bare it was pushing 95lbs and thats after a shot a chuck of it out of the bay with a rod lol.

my bare ls block weighed closer to 50lbs than it did 25. theres no way in hell a bare gsr weighs 25lbs.

bare blocks are closer to 50lbs, yes
short blocks probably 100-ish
