Default project: car overhaul. lol gay name sorry :) (turbo-rlated)

hey guys. i've decided to do a major overhaul on my turbo set up. well, not really major, but changing most of the ****...
anyway, here's my current setup. i have a gsr with a greddy 18g turbo with the greddy log mani, and the greddy downpipe.
i'm not really happy with the lag time and the internal wastegate, both of which expletive me over. the wg crapped out on me during my tune and wouldn't go more than 5 psi. and the lag is a little upsetting. i mean, it's not that bad, but i want a turbo that can spool a little faster.

i'm looking to get out on the track around springtime next year so i want to have my car done before then.

now i was looking at some 50trim turbos. i don't have any experience with them, but i know they're small and they don't lag. i was wondering for those of you that run 50 trim turbos. . . does it feel like it runs out of breath up top? i've read that it spools at 2200. how much power did you make @ what psi? what setup were you running?

would there be any turbo + mani combination that would bolt up directly to the downpipe? or would i be better off selling the downpipe and getting a whole new dp turbo mani combo?

any input would be great

thanks.

sell your dp and get a new one for your new manifold. the 50 trim will spool pretty quick but not at 2200. i think more like 10psi by low to mid 4000s.

do you have a dyno graph of the current setup? maybe the wastegate is leaking exhaust by and causing the lag?

no i don't. i didn't ask for one cuz i made such shitty power due to low boost.

the wategate actuator wasn't engaging and it didn't want to go more than ~5 psi. so i either need to look to the ends of the earth for an 18g internal wastegate or go with an external setup.

ndogg how does it feel in the high end?

no 50 trim is going to spool that fast. I do have a suggestion for you since it seems you are looking for a quick spooling yet fast car. I seem to always suggest this setup, but its because i absolutely love it to death.

look a little further down the post...i'm talking about the GT3255, not the Silver Surfer
