If anything, a D16y8 or just an B18b1 OBD2. People sell them left n right in the So Cal marketplace. That is if you have money that you are looking to upgrade your car with.

Mini-me = waste of time. Bauley civic wrote the mini-me writeup and he'll tell you it was a big waste of time.

Get a dohc or just turbo what you have.

$400 for 15 whp is not a good idea.

agreed, was going to do full exhaust, intake manifold, cam, valves..blah blah blah..and even after ALL that money spent...probably would only be able to run with a stock B16...only way to really get anything is boost or DOHC swap

How about the crankshaft, which has d16 rod journals? Or how about the fact that it has a better rod:stroke ratio compared to most other d-series engines, and it costs relatively little?

Also, I assume that we're talking about the JDM obd1 d15b VTEC, right? There are 4 versions of the d15b...

By far the b18b.

b18bn with a b16/gsr tranny will be more fun to drive than a b16. I've driven both.

How low of a budget is low for yourself? Will you drop the motor in yourself?

B18 with a b16tranny? yeah enough... so like we are saying the b18 is better than the b16?? mmm... do some research, only modified b18's are better than a b16... but hey this is a dif subject. I say if you really have low budget... and want power for now... drop NOS, lol, thats the easy way out, if you are not planning on keeping this engine, dont boost it. Just get an LS b18, and whenever you have enough make it LS Vtec. with a GSR head.

Um, time and time I've seen a short gear b18b whoop up on b16's.
